The last time we saw Donnie Marbut, he was not in a very good mood. He was in a much better mood on Friday after the Cougars knocked off Brown 8-2.
Things didn't start well for WSU as Brown took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning, but WSU answered with four runs in the bottom of the inning and Joe Pistorese settled down and pitched a solid seven innings. Pistorese struck out a career-high seven betters, improving his record to 3-1 on the season.
The loss dropped Brown to 1-7 on the season and with three more games to play in the series, WSU needs to come away with a four-game sweep. The two teams will play today at 2 p.m. PT, let's see if Marbut stays in a good mood.

Spring Practice Primer: Washington State Cougars - CBSSports.com
The least you should know about Washington State this spring -- All positions are up for grabs. Leach emphasized before spring began that he sees these practices primarily as a chance to further evaluate his roster. Whereas last spring was about teaching players the basics, such as where to line up within his system, this spring will be about finding players and polishing their skills. Coming off a 3-9 season, Leach can't afford to be complacent and that means going with talent over experience wherever possible
