Cougar baseball set to host Gonzaga, George Raveling headed to the Hall of Fame

WSU baseball begins back-to-back rivalry series.

WSU Athletic Communications

If you are in Pullman and haven't had the chance to take in a Cougar baseball game, this week is a good opportunity. WSU will begin a nine-game homestand on Tuesday when the Gonzaga Bulldogs travel down to Pullman (that apparently is possible) for a Tuesday night game.

The Cougars and Bulldogs met last Tuesday with Gonzaga pulling out a 5-4 win. The Cougars entered that game riding an 8-game losing streak, but things will be slightly different this time around. The Cougars snapped that streak and took a series from No. 12 California with a pair of wins over the weekend.

The game against the Bulldogs will be the first of a long stretch of home cooking with WSU set to host the Washington Huskies later in the week for a three-game series before taking on New Mexico State and San Jose State next week. WSU won't leave Pullman again until April 24.

WSU had a rough go of it early in the Pac-12 season, thanks in part to a brutal schedule of top team after top team. If the Cougars are going to make up for the rough patch and turn things around this season, tonight would be a good time to start.
