The attention of the WSU fanbase is focused on football and the upcoming game against Utah, but it will shift slightly on Thursday ... at least for a few hours. The Cougars will head up to Spokane for the annual matchup with Gonzaga.
The yearly game against the Zags is one of the highlights of the non-conference schedule and also gives WSU fans the chance to reunite with a few Cougar favorites. Remember watching game-after-game in Root Sports' stunning 480p HD? Well, it will be just like old times tonight with the game being broadcast on Root Sports and KHQ.
If you don't know how to operate the mute button on your TV, I would suggest figuring it out before the game tips. Gonzaga play-by-play man Greg Heister will be on the call and he'll be joined by former Gonzaga players Richard Fox and Dan Dickau. The three are KHQ's regular Gonzaga broadcast team and will handle the duties with the simulcast on Root Sports.
Those pro Gonzaga announcers will probably lose their minds when Kevin Pangos adds the next chapter to his book of torturing the Cougars. Pangos haunted the Cougs the last two years, hitting nine threes in a 33-point effort in 2011 and destroying WSU's upset bid with a last-second layup last year.
With that said, that picture quality will look beautiful and those announcers will sound great if the Cougs come away with the win.
