WSU announces Jermaine Morgan signing

As widely reported yesterday, WSU basketball has signed junior college forward Jermaine Morgan to a letter of intent, the school announced on Thursday, adding him to the 2014 recruiting class.

There had been some confusion about Morgan's eligibility, but WSU has confirmed that the transfer will enroll as a junior and have two years remaining. He does have a redshirt year available, but given the state of WSU's frontcourt, it's unlikely to be used unless there is an injury issue.

"Jermaine is another quality big that will give us the depth that we need for next season in the front court," WSU coach Ken Bone said in the news release. "He's a good solid player at this point in his career, and yet has the ability to add weight and strength which will only enhance his game. We are excited to bring in a player from one of the top junior college programs in the country, Moberly Area CC, which is coached by one of the best coaches in junior college basketball, Pat Smith."
