The Washington State men's basketball team picked up a win on Saturday, but the Cougars did so without leading scorer DaVonte Lacy. Lacy had his appendix removed on Saturday and will miss some time.
The timetable for him to return is up in the air. Ken Bone said Lacy could return in three days, or it could take two weeks, according to Jacob Thorpe. I haven't had my appendix removed before, but it seems like it would be somewhat super human for Lacy to resume playing basketball three days after surgery.
As for the game, the Cougars dispatched Mississippi Valley State with relative ease, even without Lacy. Here's a Twitter recap from Craig and Kyle.
MVSU has no answer for D.J. Shelton's size and athleticism. Had 6 boards in first four minutes.

No idea how WSU will manage without Bud Nameck on the floor: pic.twitter.com/0YQmYN219U

I don't know who lets Ken Bone out of the house with a black shirt under a black blazer, but that is not a good look.

Good job, good effort on that free throw, Junior.

Shelton just made a left-handed hook shot and it looked like it was the first time he ever tried it.

Que is so polished offensively. You can see why he was a 4-star recruit before not playing basketball for two years.

DKD with a BS sucker punch to a MVSU's player's back. About as productive as he has been all season.

I haven't seen every team, but WSU has to be near the top of college basketball in "unwatchableness."

Couple buckets to end the half and get the lead back up to double-digits. That's good.

Is it hooded at least? RT @bward09wsu: A sweatshirt is the prize for a 10 year old kid to make a half court shot. Really?

Ike just did something neat.

WSU creating separation now. Good stretch for the Cougs.

Well, no matter how the rest of the season goes, we're gonna win our rivalry game by 30. See you next year Devils!

Slow your roll with those exclamation points, fellas... @WSUMensHoops WSU wins, 85-48!!

Y'all will be alright if I don't write a recap, right? Good, I'm going to play video games.
