WSU takes on No. 9 Gonzaga at 8 p.m. in Spokane Arena in a game that figures to be a lopsided affair; there is a more than 200 spot difference between the Cougars and the Bulldogs in Ken Pomeroy's ratings.
Still, it is a rivalry game, which makes it a big deal, especially if the Cougars can somehow figure out a way to keep it close. WSU ran over Texas-San Antonio on Saturday thanks to some scorching hot shooting from the outside, and that's likely part of what will be required tonight for the Cougars to keep it competitive against what Ernie Kent has called Mark Few's most talented team.
In fact, the Cougars' best bet might be simply hoping that the Zags will be suffering from a hangover caused by their loss to No. 3 Arizona on Saturday while simultaneously looking ahead to UCLA this weekend. WSU is the weakest opponent of the three (by a country mile), and while it's a home game for Gonzaga, it's going to be taking place in a relatively sterile environment.
The game is being broadcast on ESPNU and WatchESPN.com, and you can also listen via Tune-In Radio.
