Washington State's season ended nearly a week ago, but Ken Bone remains in limbo. Many expect Bone to be fired at some point, but that point is yet to come. Part of that is because WSU athletic director Bill Moos hasn't met with Bone yet.
"Because of conflicting schedules I haven't had a chance to really visit with our staff and primarily Ken Bone," Moos said on Cougar Calls with Bill Moos on Monday.
Moos isn't the type to fire a coach over the phone and getting Bone and Moos in the same room together has been a challenge. For one, Moos was unable to attend the Pac-12 Tournament because of an illness. Bone and his family stayed in Las Vegas for an extra day, while Moos has been busy with WSU's prep to host NCAA Tournament games in Spokane this week. Moos said the plan is to meet with Bone "early this week" so Bone's fate will be decided sooner, rather than later.
The NCAA Tournament games begin in Spokane on Thursday. Assuming Moos will either be there or at least not want to make the announcement and hold the press conference during the event, I'd expect the decision either today or tomorrow. That is assuming Bone isn't pulling a George Costanza and dodging Moos' calls.
