Washington State Cougars fans will finally get to meet their new men’s basketball coach, as Kyle Smith will be officially introduced today at an 11:30 a.m. PT news conference.
The event will take place in the Rankich Room at Martin Stadium, and the public is invited to attend. But since chances are better than not that you’re reading this from somewhere other than Pullman, there will be a couple of viewing options.
If you’re at work and need to stream the event, you’ll be able to do so at wsucougars.com (probably via this particular link). Additionally, Pac-12 Networks will be broadcasting the event, so you can watch it on your TV if you happen to be at home. (Or, you can set your DVR, like me!)
Joining Smith at the news conference will be WSU president Kirk Schulz and athletics director Pat Chun.
Smith’s hiring was announced on Wednesday of last week; he most recently was the coach of the San Francisco Dons. Smith led the Dons to a 21-10 record this season and a fourth place finish in the West Coast Conference. The Dons never finished with fewer than 20 wins overall in his three seasons at the helm, and they posted a 28-24 record in league play. Prior to that, he was the coach of the Columbia Lions for six seasons, compiling an overall record of 101-82, including 37-47 in the Ivy League.
