Podcast Vs. Everyone: Klay Day was picture perfect, and so was Cougar hoops

There’s a lot to love in the world of WSU right now!

There was the potential for a lot of things to go wrong during Klay Thompson’s number retirement last weekend, and you’ll forgive us if we were expecting something to go sideways — we’re Cougs, after all.

Instead, the weekend went about as perfectly as we could have imagined: The Golden State Warriors’ star showed us why we all continue to love him so much, and the current crop of Washington State Cougars rose to the occasion to pick up a victory over the Oregon State Beavers.

Man, talking about Cougar athletics is a lot of fun right now!

Show rundown:

  • Hoops: The week started with a win over No. 8 Oregon, continued with Klay’s number retirement, and culminated with a win over Oregon State. That was *awesome*.
  • Football (57:00ish): We have a defensive coordinator! We’ve got thoughts. And Nick Rolovich is out here buying beers for fans. How cool is that?
  • Soccer (1:20:00ish): WSU had two players taken in the top 17 of the NWSL draft, including Morgan Weaver going No. 2 overall. This is also very cool and good, even if she went to Portland!

Fair warning, we do use naughty words from time. You’ll probably hate it. We don’t care.
