WSU reveals uniform combo vs. Houston Cougars

It’s a new combination we haven’t seen before.

It’s not often we get a uniform combination we haven’t seen before, but that’s exactly what we’re going to get on Friday when the Washington State Cougars travel to Texas to face the Houston Cougars.

We at CougCenter, when guessing the combination, figured they’d go with the all-whites for the national-TV broadcast on ESPN because it’s such a sharp look, but this is an excellent twist on that combo. WSU has come close to this look before, having worn anthracite helmets with a white jersey and anthracite pants on the road against the Utah Utes in 2017.

This, as in that game, will provide a nice uniform contrast to the red Coogs. You might also remember that the game against the Utes went very, very well, as the defense harassed Utah into a plethora of turnovers. WSU, of course, will be facing another dangerous dual-threat QB on Friday in D’Eriq King — hopefully there’s some mojo in this combination.
