So much for easing into fall camp.
WSU begins fall camp practice in Lewiston today, but that is only part of the latest happenings. We went all offseason with little to no news, then as soon as practice is about to begin, a million things happen.
Let's start with Braden Eggert, the 6'7, 305-pound offensive tackle who verbally committed to WSU Thursday night. He is the 10th player to verbally commit to the 2014 class and the first offensive linemen.
While Eggert is now a future member of WSU's football teams, one of the former members made news as well when tight end/wide receiver Andrei Lintz signed a free agent deal with the Seattle Seahawks. Roughly a year ago, I predicted Lintz would catch 62 passes for 842 yards and five touchdowns in 2012. He caught two passes for 14 yards, so yeah, I was close. If anyone is going to find a use for a 6'5 250 pound athlete, it's Pete Carroll.
Oh yeah, this little thing called fall camp starts today as well. The Cougars will hold their first practice of the 2013 season at 2:40 p.m. PT. We'll have plenty more throughout the day leading up to, and through, the start of fall camp.
