If you watch Dennis Simmons' mic'd up segment below, or have read any of his interviews, you probably know he tends to provide a lot of excellent insight.

He's also not bad at providing notable quotes. Christian Caple has a few quotes from Simmons in his post-practice blog post and this one was my favorite.

They're not going to lay down, they're going to come in here and expect to do what we expect to do each week - come in here and take someone's heart.

After snapping a few photos of the new additions to Martin Stadium — those will be up in a few minutes — we had a brief chat with outside receivers coach Dennis Simmons. Then we came home, typed words on a laptop, and now you are reading those words. There are more of them about footballs and football players after the jump.

Combination of a couple things. I think it became clear early in the game that USC was going to go with the conservative game plan, which allowed Wazzu to play up and stop the short passing game and running game. Ever since the Apple Cup win to end last year, the WSU defensive has looked solid. Limiting big plays is the next big step.
