With a few recent departures and a handful of redshirts coming off against Auburn, there has been a decent amount of change since the last time I took an in-depth look at WSU's roster. That of course, means it is time to bust out the roster table once again.

New walk-ons have been added, a few players have been removed and true freshman who played against Auburn have been moved to the 2016 column.

The main changes since the last roster update were the departures of Rahmel Dockery, Logan Mayes, Matt Meyer and Paulo Lepua. Mitchell Peterson has been moved from a walk-on to a scholarship player after word came out that he was added to scholarship during fall camp.

With the moves, WSU is currently operating with an estimated 79 players on scholarship. With 18 seniors set to depart, WSU shouldn't have any issue taking a full recruiting class of 25 players in 2014. They may lose one spot in 2014 depending on what happens with Vince Mayle. He's currently listed as a senior, although Mike Leach said WSU is submitting paperwork in an attempt to get Mayle an extra year of eligibility.

It will be interesting to watch the redshirts over the next few games. The coaches said Chester Su'a could redshirt and it wouldn't surprise me if Jacob Seydel redshirts after suffering an apparent injury during practice. Ivan McLennan didn't play against Auburn, so there is also a chance he redshirts, especially if Destiny Vaeao and Kache Palacio are productive at BUCK.

Cornerback remains the biggest concern, both this season and moving into the future. The Cougars currently have six active scholarship corners, although two appear to be injured. Moving forward, WSU will lose three seniors next season and there isn't a lot of experienced depth behind them. Daquawn Brown is going to play a lot this season, but playing time for Alex Jackson and possibly Charleston White, especially in upcoming games against Idaho and Southern Utah, will be important.

We'll update things in a few weeks after there is a better idea of which freshman/newcomers are going to play. The next update will also include a tentative look at the incoming 2014 recruiting class.
