There is a trend during spring football and fall camp for the attention to focus on new players. Like prospects and draft picks are all the rage in MLB and the NFL, incoming freshman garner more than their fare share of attention. The same can be said for redshirt freshman. They are new and full of potential.
The thing is, though, they very rarely make a huge difference right away. There are certainly exceptions to the rule, but few WSU freshman have lit up the Pac-12. Which leads to today's trivia ...
