From Mike Leach talking about the size of a tiger's eyes, to the Pac-12 Championship game moving, to WSU flags flying near space, there is a lot to get to today.
Let's start with Leach who continues on his Geronimo book promotion tour. He made a couple of radio stops on Thursday including an entertaining 15 minutes with ESPN 1045 in Baton Rouge. There is some talk about the book and WSU, but then Leach goes into a story about playing LSU at Tiger Stadium while he was at Kentucky. Here is a little taste, via FootballScoop.com.
"It's incredible, it's one of the greatest game day environments that I've ever been a part of," Leach says. "There's little old ladies with their children and grandchildren doing a variety of hand gestures letting you know just what they think of you exactly."
You can listen to the entire interview, right here. That wasn't Leach's only radio stop of the day, he joined the Wyman, Mike and Moore show on 710 ESPN to cover a lot of the same topics. He also talked a bit about Deone Bucannon, handing about as much praise as possible. Leach's appearance starts at the 24-minute mark. Also of note for those of you in the Bellevue area, Leach will be signing books at the University Book Store on Saturday at 6 p.m. PT.
On a non-athletics note, the WSU Physics and Astronomy Club sent a weather balloon -- with Cougar flag attached -- nearly 100,000 feet into the stratosphere. The two-minute clip provides some cool shots of Pullman and campus, or you can kill two hours of your Friday by watching the entire 98,093-foot accent.
Stories about Geronimo, Apache warriors and weather balloons. Just a typical Friday on CougCenter.
