WSU Football Operations Building move-in scheduled to start today

The building won't be fully operational for about a month, but it's oh-so-close to being what it was designed to be: The center of all football-related activity at WSU.

If the original timeline has held, the WSU athletic department is taking possession of the keys to the newly completed Football Operations Building and furniture is being moved in as this is being written.

In a project such as this, it often can feel like it's taking forever to finish. The tearing down of the end zone bleachers began in December 2012, and along the way we've gotten plenty of piecemeal updates during the building process.

But then the completion arrives, and it's like, "Whoa, it's already done?" That's kind of how I'm feeling right now.

If you'd like a little preview of what the nearly finished product looks like minus the furniture, check out the video above. The seniors got to take a tour, and they seem pretty fired up about getting to move into some new digs. I think I'd be pretty fired up, too.

One interesting thing? At the end, you get a little preview of what the new gameday entrance to Martin Stadium will be like for them -- no longer will WSU come through the tunnel in the corner that we're used to; it appears they will come straight out of their locker room after a rolling door is raised. You can see it on the left in the photo below.

Speaking of the photo, here's what you're looking at: The photo on the left is from today; the other is from April 1, 2013. You can watch the full (and really cool) time lapse of the building process here.
