Les Miles and Mike Leach walk into a bar ...

Let's have some fun with make believe conversations.

When it comes to interesting college football coaches, Mike Leach and Les Miles are the heavy favorites to top the "most interesting" category. Both are known to drop a good quote, or twenty, during their press conferences. They'll veer off on tangents, cover a lot of ground and sometimes say a lot without saying anything. Put those two in a room together and who knows what will happen.

Actually, that did happen recently at a Houston Astros game.

Unfortunately, no one rerecorded what had to be an entertaining conversation. Instead, we're left to use our imaginations and try to determine what conversation topics Leach and Miles covered. Billy Gomila of And The Valley Shook got us started, with a few possible topics.

  • That time Hal Mumme and Larry Lacewell got in a knife fight.
  • Net neutrality.
  • Rita Hayworth or Ava Gardner, who would ya rather nail?
  • How History Channel's Ancient Aliens tells you everything you need to know about the Wishbone formation.

One thing they likely didn't discuss is whether Miles has read Leach's new book. We already know Les Miles doesn't read books:

"I have to be real honest with you. I enjoy game week. I enjoy practice. I enjoy preparing. I want you to know something. When I wake up in the morning and I turn that film on, it's like reading a book, and it's exciting ... I don't read books, but if I read books, it would be like reading a book."

What other topics do you think came up?

What Do Les Miles and Mike Leach Talk About? - And The Valley Shook
Les Miles. Mike Leach. Former conference rivals turned into the buddy cop combo that America didn't know it always wanted. But what do they talk about? I know it may seem like a Bo Schembechler's Michigan Man and a Lavell Edwards passing game devotee might not have much in common, but Les and Mike have an amazing rapport. Here are some outtakes from last week's summit in Houston:

9. Washington State: Beat USC 10-7. What a strange game. USC did nothing, Washington State did nothing, and the Cougars eventually broke through at the end to get a defining win that would eventually allow them to go to a bowl game.
