Connor Halliday was already named to the Davey O'Brien watch list, but that isn't the only award he may be up for this season. The senior was also one of 32 players named to the Manning Award Watch List, another award for the best quarterback in the country.
The Pac-12 was well represented on the watch list with eight players named. The winner will be decided following bowl season with Peyton and Eli Manning voting along with members of the media. Halliday's lofty passing totals will get him on a lot of lists, but he will likely need to be more efficient and less turnover prone if he's going to factor into the final results.
Halliday should have a nice resume of counting stats by the end of the season. Huge passing totals, 400-yard games, 300-yard games, maybe even a couple 500-yard games. A nice healthy 8.0 yards per attempt average would be even better.

Poll: Which Pac- 12 game will have best finish? - ESPN
The Apple Cup isn’t exactly the fiercest of names for a rivalry (sorry, guys), but this could really be an interesting match up. Mike Leach's against first-year coach Chris Petersen. Can Petersen and his Huskies handle the air raid?
WSU players get their play books, er, tablets - SportsLink - Spokesman.com - Aug. 14, 2014
Washington State linebackers coach Ken Wilson tweeted out a photo of the new iPads the Cougars are using. The tablet devices can presumably be used by players to watch cut up videos of plays, rather than simply looking at diagrams.
3. Washington State returns nine players who caught at least 26 passes a year ago. That astounding stat is one measure of the improvement the Cougars made in running Mike Leach's offense. More importantly, Washington State scored at least 38 points in five games last season against FBS competition after doing so only once in the previous four years. If quarterback Connor Halliday cuts down his 34/22 touchdown-to-interception ratio, the Cougars are going to beat someone they shouldn't.
