WSU vs. Cal 2015: Game thread, updates and more

Conference play has arrived, come talk about the game with your fellow Cougs.

James Snook-USA TODAY Sports

Following a bye week, Washington State returns to action on Saturday and will do so in the Bay Area, against the California Golden Bears.

The matchup is one a lot of college football fans have had circled on their calendars. Not because it's a game of two top teams squaring off with championship implications. Instead, there is heightened interest in the game because the teams played one of the most entertaining games of 2014. WSU fans remember that 60-59 affair well, unfortunately. The NCAA single-game passing record may not fall this time around and hopefully the Cougars actually muster up a second half stop or two, but it should still be an action-filled contest.

Washington State pulled out a 44-22 victory the last time they took on Cal on the road. A similar result this time around would be a major boost for the Cougars. The Bears are trending up at the moment and at 4-0 are even ranked No. 24 in the country. Winning this year will be a bigger challenge than in 2013 and WSU will certainly need a huge offensive performance if it's going to happen.

Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. PT. Here is your viewing information.
