WSU Cougars College GameDay flag streak saved by ESPN and UPS 'Express Critical'

Despite being lost in transit to the College Gameday set in Tucson, Arizona, the WSU GameDay Flag, Ol' Crimson, will still fly high.

Some streaks will never die. The 166 consecutive appearances of the WSU Gameday Flag, Ol' Crimson, on ESPN's College GameDay nearly came to a halt yesterday after the flag was lost in transit (somewhere in Mississippi?) on its way to Arizona.

But thanks to ESPN and the magical UPS "Express Critical" service, the Cougar flag will flew high at the GameDay set in Tucson today, the 167th week it has appeared on the show..

The story was aired on ESPN's One Big Thing Segment hosted by Scott Van Pelt (check out the video here). The spot features Van Pelt interviewing long time College GameDay Producer Lee Fitting about how ESPN managed to get the flag to the set on time. #FindOlCrimson started trending on Twitter and some of them are awesome.

What almost went down in history as "The Ol' Crimson Crisis of 2015" might also serve as a spring board to get College Gameday to Pullman. Clearly ESPN is committed to keeping the Ol' Crimson streak alive. Now maybe with a nudge from our hero Lee Fitting, and a little luck, College GameDay will make their way to Pullman in the near future.
