The WSU Cougars (6-2, 5-0 Pac-12) host the Arizona Wildcats (2-6, 0-5) in front of what will surely be a raucous Dad’s Weekend crowd in Pullman.
Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m. PT.
The return home is surely welcome for the Cougs, who played their last two games away from Pullman and needed comebacks against both Arizona State and Oregon State to remain undefeated in Pac-12 play. Slow starts have been an issue, and it will be interesting to see if WSU can avoid that today against a team that is reeling.
Like a number of the Cougars’ opponents this year, the Wildcats are depleted by injuries, a key factor in their mounting losses. Quarterback and running back have both been hit hard, but Arizona will at least have its best quarterback taking snaps. Brandon Dawkins isn’t much of a passer, but he can run very well, and WSU will have to account for that or risk allowing the Wildcats to stay in the game longer than they probably should.
The good news for WSU is that Arizona is a mess defensively, and the Cougars should be able to have their way and score plenty of points.
