The Washington State Cougars had lost their first five openers under Mike Leach, a fact that caused a lot of consternation for fans of the team. And most of the time, when you ask coaches and players if it bugs them, they usually just offer up some cliches about how that’s in the past, and how they’re only focused on this week, etc. etc.
Well, WSU linebackers coach Roy Manning is here to let you know that, yes, the team is pretty excited to have finally won an opener: “1-0 baby, feels good, get that monkey off your back, the curse is broken baby, 1-0 we gonna take it baby, every win is a good win!”
The curse is broken! 1-0! If ya don't know, now ya know! Love it!#GoCougs! #AirRaid #SpeedD #Forces #RaiseTheBar⬆️#JoinTheHunt pic.twitter.com/1kinRIpROR

I’m pretty sure my favorite part is Manning making an airplane sound to describe how the defense was “flyin’ around, makin’ plays.” I would like to formally request that this become a permanent fixture in all future Manning hype videos.
He finished it up like this: “1-0 baby, get the hump off your back, shout out to that team tonight, shout out to the 2017, don’t ask me no questions about next week, we gonna enjoy this one tonight baby, GO COUGS!”
