Highlights, stats and notes from WSU's win over Montana State

As far as season openers go, this one was satisfying. As PJ said, pitching a shutout is difficult no matter the opponent—even a team as one dimensional as Montana State.

Luke Falk was efficient, James Williams was outstanding, and Erik Powell is one-for-one on field goals.

All positives!

Of course there are things to improve on. But for now, let's go to the highlights, especially for those stuck watching baseball as the game started:

WSU looked real good on the stat sheet, as shutouts tend to do. Lots of things stick out:
