The Washington State Cougars added the “B” portion of a couple of future schedules when the school announced it will be playing the Colorado State Rams of the Mountain West Conference in the years 2022 and 2023.
Additionally, a FBSchedules.com report indicates that a home contest against the Idaho Vandals has been added for 2025.
The Cougars will host the Rams first, then travel to Fort Collins the following season. Those two games pair up with games against the Wisconsin Badgers in those seasons, with the Cougs heading to Madison in 2022 and then hosting the Badgers in 2023.
There have been no reports on the financial details of the series against the Rams, but FBSchedules.com reports there will be a $625,000 payout for the game against the Vandals, who will be an FCS program by then.
Sports Reference indicates the Cougars and Rams have played one other time in their histories, but I just can’t remember that game for the life of me. It’s the darndest thing.
The addition of a road trip to CSU for the 2023 season ensures that WSU will have just six games at Martin Stadium that season, given that WSU will play just four Pac-12 games at home. The same goes for 2027.
