WSU Football Recruiting: Cougs land two defensive linemen

Emmitt Su'a-Kalio and Lyman Faoliu have verbally committed to Mike Leach and the Washington State Cougars.

According to CF.C, both Emmitt Su'a-Kalio and Lyman Faoliu have verbally committed to the Washington State Cougars. Of course this happens as soon as I have a busy weekend. It's like clockwork, really. I would have gotten to these earlier, but I was busy graduating from WSU. WOOOO!!!

Anyways, I normally like to give each guy his own post, but there doesn't seem to be any video whatsoever of Su'a-Kalio, so I'll hold off on an evaluation of him. He's listed at 6'4 and 250, and hails from American Samoa. So basically, he's the next Robert Barber. I think we can all start popping the champagne now. Championship!

Faoliu is a JC transfer from the College of San Mateo. If that school sounds familiar, it's because that's where we grabbed Justin Sagote from last year. Faoliu is a big, athletic lineman. Scout lists him at 6'2, 275. No embeddable highlights, but his Hudl page is here. Go check that out.

Faoliu is pretty quick for a guy his size, and the bigger, more traditional end in the 3-4 scheme. He should contribute right away, as Breske likes to rotate guys to keep them fresh. He'll have 3 to play 2 at WSU, but I doubt he redshirts. On the flip side, I'd be shocked if Su'a-Kalio didn't redshirt.

Faoliu had offers from Fresno State, New Mexico, Oregon State, Maryland, San Jose State, UNLV, Utah State, and Western Michigan while Su'a-Kalio's only other offer was from Utah. It's nice to get players who are garnering interest from non Big Sky schools. The two linemen become the 19th and 20th commits of the 2013 class. The Cougs will have roughly five slots left to fill as we approach National Letter of Intent Signing Day in February.
