WSU Football Recruiting: Leach lands 4th commit in a week

Jacob Seydel is a 2-star JC OL who previously committed to UCLA. The big buffet buster will have 3 to play 2.

Jake Roth-US PRESSWIRE

According to CF.c, Mike Leach has done it again. The fourth player to verbally commit to Washington State in the past week is JC offensive lineman Jacob Seydel of Riverside City College in California. I guess you could say Leach has been really bringin' the beef lately with two defensive linemen and a 6'6, 285 pound offensive lineman.

Seydel's Hudl page is available here.

I like that he's already a big dude at 6'6 and 285 pounds, but his frame suggests he can get over 300. Leach loves his huge offensive linemen as they're on an island blocking one on one in the wide splits of the Air Raid. Seydel is a mauler who may be better suited as a run blocker, but who shouldn't have any trouble in pass protection. He'll have 3 to play 2, and I'd be surprised if he redshirted. He should see playing time sooner than later, but I'm not sure in what capacity. Our offensive line needs all the help it can get.

Seydel is an interesting case as he previously committed and enrolled at UCLA before changing his mind and returning to Riverside CC. Perhaps Bruins Nation is just too much to handle. Aside from UCLA, he had offers from Florida International, Hawaii, Nevada, and New Mexico State. So, uh ... u mad FIU?

The class now stands at 21, and I'd like one or two more defensive backs. However, if the rest of the signees are offensive linemen, I'd be happy with that, too. MOAR BIG GUYS UP FRONT PLZ
