Defensive lineman Ngalu Tapa became the 15th verbal commitment to Mike Leach's 2014 recruiting class on Wednesday night, as first reported by Cougfan.com. Tapa is an unrated recruit out of Luther Burbank High School in Sacramento, Calif. -- the same school as fellow WSU commit Calvin Green.
Tapa also reportedly held offers from Arizona and Hawaii. Both Scout.com and Rivals.com put his measurables at 6-foot-3 and 275 pounds.
The recruitment of Tapa only seems to have picked up steam recently; according to Cougfan.com's Braulio Perez, WSU only offered in the past few days. He appears to be having a big senior season that caught the eyes of WSU's coaching staff.
Tapa is only the second defensive lineman committed to this class, joining Marcus Griffin, a three-star recruit out of Bellevue High School in Washington. As a junior, Tapa racked up 23.5 sacks and was his league's defensive MVP and also was named first team All-Metro, All-Section and All-State.
He has Hudl video here, but you can get your first peek at him in the YouTube video below.
