At least I wasn't on vacation this time.
According to our friends at CF.c, Calvin Green of Sacramento's Burbank HS has gone crimson. Mike Leach has landed yet another multi-dimensional talent that can play multiple positions. Green played RB, WR, and CB while also returning punts and kicks. He looks like a lock to play insider receiver in Pullman, though.
For another look at this speedster who goes by "The Flash", you can check out his Hudl page here.
Whoa.
Green is a burner in every sense of the word. The kid has insanely easy speed, and his ability to change direction on a dime is well above average. He's a bit of a Percy Harvin clone in that, really, just get him the damn ball regardless of formation. I know I said that in the last eval about Keith Harrington, but it was true then and it is true now. Mike Leach is bringin' in some world class speed.
Green is 5'10 and 175 pounds, but playing inside at the H, his size won't be a huge hindrance. For those of you who are interested in such things, Green's offer list is extensive: Arizona State, Boise State, Colorado State, Eastern WA, Fresno State, Nevada, Sacramento State, San Jose State, UC Davis, and Wyoming have all offered the speedster from Northern Cali.
Scout lists him as a 3-star prospect, and the #94 RB in the nation. It'll be interesting to see where they rank him as a WR. Regardless, the Cougars just added yet another impressive piece to what is looking like one of the better classes in recent memory.
Welcome Calvin, and Go Cougs.
