WSU officially announces 6 early signees

The arrivals of Calvin Green, Nick Begg, Dylan Hanswer, Sean Krepsz, Marcellus Pippins and Markell Sanders are now official.

We already knew six players were planning to enroll at WSU early, but now the process is official. WSU announced the six early signees on Wednesday.

"This is a very good start to our 2014 signing class," Mike Leach said, via a release from WSU. "We have added some size along with skill positions on both sides of the ball. Having them begin classes and adjust to college life, while also participating in winter conditioning and spring practices, will benefit them going forward."

We already detailed the six, but there are a couple of interesting notes in the release. Begg is listed as an offensive linemen and at 255 pounds. Green is a wide receiver, as expected. Hanser is listed as a 230-pound defensive end, although he might still wind up as a BUCK linebacker. Sanders played corner in high school, but I mentioned the possibility of him moving to safety and that's indeed where WSU listed him.

All six will benefit from an extra few months of conditioning and spring practice reps. Of the group, Pippins is the most likely to play next season while Begg is the least likely, at least if he stays on the offensive line.
