After what many considered an inconsistent year in the klcking game, a scholarship place kicker should help stabilize things a bit.
Abramo comes to Washington State following a pretty decent senior season at Casa Grande high School in Petamula. If his MaxPreps page is to be believed, he converted 10 of 12 attempts this year with a long of 46 yards and split the uprights on all but one of his point after attempts. On kickoffs, he averaged just over 60 plus yards, pretty good distance for someone in high school. He did a touch of punting as well (though punting seems to be in good shape for WSU) averaging about 36 yards per boot.
Abramo is a smart cookie as well, getting an offer to play for Yale (no scholarship offer though, prohibited by Ivy League rules). He also received scholarship offers from Air Force, Cal Poly and San Jose State.
Look for the kicking position to be a wide open competition in fall camp. Wes Concepcion and Quentin Breshears were less than impressive last season so Abramo could be kicking right away.
