Darrien Molton was the third player to commit to WSU's 2015 recruiting class when he pledged all the way back on June 30. The commitment stuck for more than seven months and on Wednesday, Molton made it official when he faxed in his LOI on National Signing Day.

Molton is a 3-star cornerback who will come to WSU from Temecula, Calif. His recruiting process was a quick and easy one. He drew offers from California, Colorado, Duke and Utah among others before committing during the summer. If he waivered, it was never reported. Molton eventually took an official visit to Pullman in December and that was that. At 5-foot-10 and 165 pounds, Molton is on the smaller side, but not drastically. He's a consensus 3-star recruit and the No. 56 corner in the country according to 247 Sports' composite rankings.

Molton will join a crowded group of young cornerbacks who are competing for playing time as WSU attempts to solidify the secondary. With a few young players already seeing playing time and others coming off redshirt seasons, it would make a lot of sense to space out the position and redshirt Molton and other incoming freshmen. Whether that happens will be decided in fall camp as the WSU coaching staff has proved it will play the best player and not worry about class or redshirts.

Brian Anderson's evaluation:

Highly athletic corner with great hands. Showed quite a few acrobatic interceptions and deflections. Solid speed, highlights didn't showcase it much but you can see it's there. Very solid tackler, both in the open field and on run fill responsibility. Physical player, capable of delivering a big shot.
