WSU football recruiting: OL Joseph Price officially signs his letter of intent

Joseph Price is officially a Coug.

WSU Athletic Communications

At 6-foot-5 and 290 pounds, offensive lineman Joseph Price is one of the bigger prospects in Washington State's 2015 recruiting class. He's also now officially a member of the class after sending in his signed letter of intent on National Signing Day.

Price was a relatively late addition to WSU's signing class. When Austin Maihen flipped to Stanford, WSU turned its attention to Price. The consensus 3-star prospect took an official visit to Pullman on January 17 and committed two days later. He also drew interest from a few other schools with California and Fresno State among his reported offers. Price is from Redlands, Calif. and is another one of Ken Wilson's targets.

Measurables for Price vary quite a bit. Scout lists him at 6-foot-6 but only 267 pounds. Rivals cuts off an inch at 6-foot-5, but adds 23 pounds, listing him at 290. He's likely somewhere between with his hudl page listing him at 6-foot-5 and 280 pounds. Regardless of which is accurate, Price will likely need some time to develop and add size before he is ready to compete for playing time. With five returning starters and a healthy depth chart, WSU can afford just that. Price will likely head for a redshirt season next year before attempting to work his way into the two-deep beginning in 2016. He's certainly an athletic prospect with a good frame, giving him plenty of potential down the road.

Brian Anderson's evaluation:

Above average lateral quickness, really fast feet. High school system showcased wide splits and his pass blocking ability. Capable of being an absolute mauler on run blocks.
