WSU made yet another late addition to its 2015 class when Blinn (Texas) College cornerback Kirkland Parker announced on Instagram that he had signed with the Cougars.
WSU has yet to announce the signing, but if you look closely at the papers, you can see they are indeed from WSU. Rivals rates Parker as a three-star recruit, and he chose WSU over an offer from Purdue. He is reported to be 6-feet and 185 pounds, and it appears he has three years to play three.
According to Blinn's stats, Parker had two interceptions and three pass breakups in eight games last season. He was classified as a 2016 recruit by Rivals; that, combined with his late signing, must mean he accelerated his timetable. With most schools full up in their 2015 classes, this was to the benefit of the Cougs, who have now bolstered their incoming group of recruits with a trio of late signings -- all three-star recruits.
Parker is the seventh defensive back in this class, and if you're wondering if he has a chance to make an immediate impact ... well, it's always dangerous to draw conclusions from Hudl videos, but he certainly looks to have the requisite athleticism:
If you want to know how the scholarships are going to work out in this class that we thought was full but obviously can't be since they keep adding guys ... well, I don't have an answer. We'll have a clearer picture when the team reports for camp in August.
