National Signing Day live post: WSU’s 2017 class as it rolls in

Up-to-the-minute updates!

It’s here! The lifeblood of every college football program has arrived, as National Signing Day is upon us.

Faxes are expected to start rolling in around 5 a.m. PT — recruits are allowed to send them in at 8 a.m. local time, and the WSU Cougars have a commit in the eastern time zone expected to sign — and we’ll be updating the table down below as the National Letters of Intent are confirmed as received by WSU. (Keep an eye on the left column; you’ll have to refresh to see the changes.)

Additionally, if there are any developments that are out of the ordinary, we’ll give you some running updates here. The Cougs already have 25 known commitments, but it’s thought that they’re still in pursuit of at least one more prospect, and perhaps even two or three.

The big one to watch? Wide receiver target Jamire Calvin — who committed to Oregon State, then decommitted a short time later, only to commit to Nebraska over WSU — appears to still be waffling on his decision and perhaps still considering becoming a Coug. He’ll make his announcement around noon. (Update: Calvin chose WSU!)

Buckle up. Let’s have a fun day!

UPDATES

  • And we have our first surprise of the day! Wide receiver Travell Harris out of Tampa, Florida, picked WSU over Arizona, South Florida and Florida Atlantic. He’s rated two-stars by 247Sports composite. Read more here.
  • Most everything has gone smoothly so far today — the expected letters have come in, and nobody has flipped. Still waiting on a couple of letters from Kelle Sanders and Dontae Powell, as well as keeping an eye on Calvin. Read more about the morning’s events here.
  • Jamire Calvin goes Crimson! The four-star wide receiver committed to Nebraska recently, but flipped that decision on signing day.
  • Still no official word as of 4 p.m. PT from WSU on Kelle Sanders or Dontae Powell, although Sanders tweeted pictures of himself signing papers. The class already sits at 25 without them, and it was anticipated WSU would be able to take 26.
  • Mike Leach held his press conference without mentioning Sanders or Powell. We’ve got the words and video here.
  • And the day has now come and gone, with nothing on Sanders or Powell. We’ll let you know when we know something.
