Fresh off his official visit, in which he took in the No. 8 Washington State Cougars’ heart-stopping victory over the California Golden Bears, three-star defensive end Tyler Garay-Harris pulled the trigger on his commitment to the Cougs.

Garay-Harris, who hails from Bishop O’Dowd High School in Oakland, Calif., chose WSU over offers from the Utah Utes, Arizona State Sun Devils and UNLV Rebels. His lead recruiter is Darcel McBath.
Standing 6-foot-5 and 230 pounds, Garay-Harris looks like a prime candidate to add another 30 or 40 pounds and play either defensive tackle or end for WSU — currently the spots primarily held down by Logan Tago and Nick Begg. There had been some talk in his recruitment that maybe some schools were looking at him as a linebacker, but his highlights suggest that with added strength, he could be a force on the line:
Garay-Harris is the first defensive lineman committed to the 2019 class, and has said earlier that he expects to sign in the early period. He joins defensive players Peni Naulu and Travion Brown (linebackers) and Armauni Archie (defensive back). Here’s a look at the entire class:
