WSU football recruiting: 2020 commits

Who’s planning on coming to Pullman? Here’s an up-to-date list of commitments and signings.

The Washington State Cougars are looking to build on not just the most wins in a season in school history but also the best sustained run in program history as new coach Nick Rolovich puts together the finishing touches for the 2020 recruiting class.

The Cougs are going through a transition under Rolovich, but many elements of recruiting are expected to stay the same: Looking for players on offense who fit a unique system (Rolovich’s Run and Shoot) and players on defense who can develop, even if we don’t know exactly how new defensive coordinator Jake Dickert is going to go about rebuilding his side of the ball.

Quarterback Jayden de Laura, a mobile passer who seems to just be coming into his own after being overlooked as s junior, is leading the way in the class; he is rated three stars by 247Sports’ composite algorithm, but the service’s own evaluators rated him a four-star recruit. He leads powerhouse Saint Louis High School in Hawaii.

The class features two other players rated four stars by 247Sports’ scouts: Offensive lineman James McNorton and cornerback Alphonse Oywak. Oywak was previously committed to the Arizona Wildcats, but Rolovich and his staff flipped the Kent, Wash., native to the east side of the state.

Who else will join them? This table is updated as commitments, decommitments and national letters of intent happen, as well as when rankings change. Click on the player’s name to read our story on their commitment; click on the stars to see the player’s profile at 247Sports:
