The Washington State Cougars inched closer to completing their 2020 signing class on Tuesday when wide receiver Mike Pettway announced his intention to sign with Nick Rolovich when the regular signing period commences on Wednesday.

The three-star receiver from Alabama reportedly picked WSU over offers from the Arkansas State Red Wolves and Cincinnati Bearcats. He also reportedly held offers from the Mississippi State Bulldogs (under the previous coaching staff, at least), Indiana Hoosiers and Louisville Cardinals.
Pettway is listed in some places at 5-foot-10 and others at 6-foot. I have no idea how good the competition is where he’s playing in Alabama, but he’s certainly not lacking for the speed to run away from guys:
Pettway is the third wide receiver in the class, joining Joey Hobert and Cedrick Pellum, who each have already signed. WSU lost a receiver from the class when Keyshawn Smith was released from his letter of intent.
The regular signing period gets underway tomorrow, and Pettway is one of three players verbally committed who are expected to sign, with cornerbacks Alphonse Oywak and Chau Smith joining him. WSU already has 17 players signed, which means there are at least four scholarships still available — maybe five, depending on whether FCS transfer Phillip Powell is walking on.
