The Washington State Cougars host the Utah Utes on Saturday afternoon at 12:30 p.m. PT with postseason hopes on the line. The Cougs notched their fifth win of the season with a dramatic victory over the Arizona Wildcats last week, and that puts them on the cusp of reaching bowl eligibility for the first time since 2006. That was also the last time WSU sat at five wins with at least one game to play.
Utah still has its eye on a bowl as well. The Utes come in at 4-6, needing to win out to get the necessary six wins. If Utah can pull out a road win in Pullman, prospects look good. Colorado comes to Salt Lake City for the regular season finale.
WSU is favored in this game, just as it was when it hosted Oregon State earlier this season. That game had a similar feel--the Cougs had just earned a road win and dreams of a bowl trip were in the air. That game didn't end well for Washington State, as OSU blew out the Cougars.
Will the 18 seniors celebrating Senior Day and the rest of team let that happen again with so much at stake? Fans will find out a lot about this group of guys today.
