It is gameday at Washington State and Cougar nation is ready for some football. Last week's heartbreaking defeat against Stanford showed that this team is on the cusp. Let's hope a home showdown against Arizona State can get the Cougars back on track and into bowl season.
Since 2004 the Cougars have only reached the six-win mark twice, once in 2006 with coach Bill Doba and once in 2013 under coach Mike Leach. Prior to the 2013 Gildan New Mexico Bowl, WSU had not played in a bowl game since defeating Texas in the 2003 Holiday Bowl. The Cougars have four more opportunities to qualify for post season play with games at home versus Arizona State and Colorado, and on the road against UCLA and UW.
If Falk and company can put together another fantastic performance in front of all the Coug dads freezing their butts off at Martin Stadium, then WSU just might be primed for the Las Vegas Bowl.
Kickoff is at 12:30 p.m. PT and the game will be broadcast on Fox Sports 1.
