Both the Washington State Cougars and the Arizona State Sun Devils are coming off a bye, but only one of those teams does so with the season feeling like it’s hanging squarely in the balance.
The Cougs are at a tipping point as they head to Tempe: The defensive coordinator has resigned as the team is riding a two-game losing streak that has them sitting at the bottom of the Pac-12 North.
The Sun Devils, meanwhile, are feeling great at 4-1 and sitting in the AP poll just three spots behind where the Utah Utes were a couple of weeks ago. And yet, it sure feels like they might not be that good and that there’s an opportunity for the Cougs to bounce back in a big way.
Because of that, our prediction at the end might surprise you.
Fair warning, we do use naughty words from time. You’ll probably hate it. We don’t care.
