With seven games remaining and WSU needing three wins to become bowl eligible, today's game against Cal technically isn't a must-win for WSU. The Cougars could lose today and still finish the regular season with nine wins!

That said, most of the fan scenarios which have WSU reaching a bowl, include a win against Cal. Based on Football Outsiders' F/+ rankings, Cal is the easiest opponent left on the schedule and it's not really close. Today may not be a must-win game, but it is a probably-gonna-need-to-win-if-you're-going-to-make-a-bowl-for-the-first-time-since-2003 game.

Consider this your open thread for College GameDay and the morning and afternoon slate of games before the marquee game of the day begins at 1 p.m. PT.

Mailbag: Pac-12 North vs. SEC West - Pac-12 Blog - ESPN
Ted-Last Saturday morning I was listening to ESPN Radio and they were debating the match-ups of the Pac-12 North and the SEC West (on neutral fields). I believe their match-ups were Al vs. OR, LSU vs. Stanford, Tex AM vs WA, Ole Miss vs OSU, Auburn vs. WSU, and Miss St or Ark vs Cal. One voted these match-ups 4-2 in favor of the SEC, and the other scored it 3-3. (Note: I think both picked LSU over Stanford.) How would you see these match-ups playing out?

The volleyball team lost at Utah on Saturday which shouldn't be much of a surprise because I don't think any WSU team is going to win at Utah, ever.
