WSU vs. Cal football: Highlights from the Cougs' big win

More highlights, because we know you can't get enough of them.

Washington State blew out the Cal Golden Bears, 44-22, on Saturday afternoon for its second-straight conference road win. Unlike the grinding win over USC, there were plenty of big plays from the Cougs on both sides of the ball in Berkeley, and that makes for a much more entertaining highlight package.

It seems that WSU only has the rights to show the television angles in their highlight package during home games. Against Auburn, USC and now Cal the highlights have come from on-field angles. Against Southern Utah and Idaho, we were treated to the high sideline view.

No matter, it's still exciting to re-live Vince Mayle's two touchdown catches, Marcus Mason coming out of the backfield to make huge plays in the passing game and Junior Gauta blowing throw the Cal offensive line for a pair of sacks.

Interesting note as you enjoy the highlight reel: This is the first time WSU has defeated both USC and Cal on the road in the same season since 2000. This year's version of the Cougs has already matched the 2000 team's win total, and needs to win at least two of its final six games to reach a bowl for the first time in 2003.
