WSU vs. Cal football: Game time, TV schedule, odds and more

The Cougars and Golden Bears are somehow playing for first place on Saturday.

William Mancebo

Last season, Cal finished 0-9 in the Pac-12 conference. Just ahead of the Golden Bears in the Pac-12 standings was Washington State, which won four of nine conference games. On Saturday, those two teams will be playing for first place in the division.

It's still early. But for a game between these two teams to have any sort of divisional importance is still a major change from last season.

WSU has its shot at first place thanks to a comeback victory over Utah, where it overcame a 21-0 deficit to win. The Golden Bears bounced back from a devastating loss to Arizona to survive in overtime against Colorado.

Points will be scored. Cal features one of the most explosive passing games in the country, led by quarterback Jared Goff, that will face a Cougar defense that has given up its fair share of big plays this. It also features a defense that has allowed more than 100 points in its past two games.

That Cal defense has been especially bad against the pass. WSU's Air Raid offense passes the ball three-quarters of the time. Again, points will be scored.

Game time, TV schedule: 7:30 p.m. PT, Pac-12 Networks

Radio stream: WSU IMG Sports Network on TuneIn

Odds: WSU by 3 (opened at 4.5), O/U at 73.5 (opened at 75.5)
