The Washington State Cougars visit the Cal Golden Bears on Saturday afternoon, and you have to come to this post to find out how to watch this clash of 1-3 Pac-12 schools. We’ll share the game time, TV schedule, stream, and radio information, but first let's look at how the Cougs and Golden Bears got here.
Cal is coming off a heartbreaking loss to Washington, where running back Damien Moore fumbled at the goal line in overtime to end the game and deliver his team an 0-1 Pac-12 conference start. The non-conference schedule was equally unkind to the Golden Bears, with losses to Nevada and TCU preceding a hardly-convincing 42-30 win over Sacramento State.
WSU has already played two league games, both featuring second-half collapses. First, there were 45 consecutive points by USC, then a 17-point run from Utah, to close each game. WSU similarly dropped a second-half lead to Utah State. Like Cal, the only win so far for the Cougs has come against Big Sky competition.
So, this game is a bit of a gut check for both programs—we talked about this at more length in our WSU vs. Cal game preview podcast. A loss would put either in a 1-4 hole while a win for either brings at least some temporary hope at 2-3. Fortunately for Cal, it’s playing at home. The good news for the Cougs? Quarterback Jayden de Laura and running back Max Borghi are expected to play, providing some life for a stagnant offense.
Now that you know the stakes, I’ll finally tell you how to watch WSU vs. Cal football.
