WSU vs. Oregon State football open game thread

The Home Depot will have to wait, because it is Dad's Weekend! The Cougs take on the Beavers in an important Pac-12 match-up.

It's been a long day of waiting, but the Washington State Cougars and Oregon State Beavers will finally kick off at 7:30 p.m. PT at Martin Stadium on ESPNU. This should be one of the better atmospheres at a WSU home game in a long time, as the Cougs are off to their best start in seven years.

It's Dad's Weekend, which means a bigger crowd. This time that bigger crowd means a sellout. The school announced on Friday that 100 extra tickets would come available Saturday morning at 10 a.m., but those were quickly gobbled up.

Now, the crowd should be electric at the beginning, but let's hope that those dads had a mid-afternoon nap or maybe a cup of coffee. There was a Heart concert last night in Pullman, and the late start to the football game means dads will be asked to burn the midnight oil two nights in a row.

Regardless of their energy level, we should expect the dads to bring a season-high number of light-colored relaxed-fit blue jeans and white tennis shoes into Martin Stadium. It's all about comfort.

If you aren't at Martin with your dad (or your child), here is the place to discuss the action as it unfolds.

Go Cougs!
