The Washington State Cougars are coming off a big win, and they look to keep the positive vibes going when the Oregon State Beavers visit Pullman on Saturday afternoon (1 p.m., Pac-12 Networks). The Cougs sit at 3-2 (1-1), while the Beavs are 2-3 (0-2).
Martin Stadium should be rocking. A combination of Homecoming weekend plus the buzz over WSU's double-overtime win in Eugene last weekend means the game has officially sold out. For a Cougar squad that has lacked energy at home this season, the crowd should be a big boost.
Wazzu has been in a similar position before against Oregon State and it hasn't ended well. There are numerous instances in recent memory where the Beavs have beatdown the Cougs in Pullman (or Seattle) when WSU appears to be on the rise. After slaying a few demons against Oregon, that's another big one for the Cougs.
Oregon State is in a transition year, with long-time head coach Mike Riley heading to Nebraska. The Beavs hit a homerun on the replacement, luring Gary Andersen away from Wisconsin. But still, a coaching change is never easy and results don't always come immediately.
