It’s hard to believe that we are now indeed so close to the beginning of the Washington State Cougars’ 2020 season, but here were are, on the eve of the kickoff against the Oregon State Beavers. And we are really, really fired up.
We spent about the first half of the show talking about developments with the Cougs, including the decision to name Jayden de Laura the starter; we also have some thoughts about the depth chart, and what that tells us (or doesn’t tell us) about the state of the team. And we don’t know a whole lot about the Beavers at this point, because they’ve had a bunch of turnover, too — particularly on offense. But we take our best shot at what WSU will be facing on Saturday night.
Ken Pomeroy’s preseason rankings finally dropped, so we sneak a quick peek at that and have a brief conversation about the basketball team, which also is seeing its schedule come together. And we definitely also have some thoughts on the California Golden Bears getting their game against the Washington Huskies canceled after just a singular positive COVID test. (It just might not be the thoughts you think we’d have.)
Fair warning: We do use naughty words from time. You’ll probably hate it. We don’t care.
