Washington State University and ESPN have finally settled on a location for this weekend’s visit from College GameDay in advance of the tilt between the Washington State Cougars and Oregon Ducks: The corner of Stadium Way and Ferdinand’s Lane.
BREAKING NEWS: @CollegeGameDay has selected its location; In the shadows of Martin Stadium, under the watchful eyes of the Cougar Pride Statue, on the corner of Stadium Way and Ferdinad's Lane...come make history this Saturday! #GoCougs #DuckHunt pic.twitter.com/wU9DCaScdb— WSU Cougars (@WSUCougars) October 16, 2018
It’s basically the same place Pac-12 Network set up for its pregame show before the Utah game, and it’s a beautiful location. The Cougar Pride statue, which sits just outside the east end of Martin Stadium, will be in the background. A couple of weeks ago, it looked like this:
And if you’re wondering exactly where that is on a map because you’re having a hard time picturing the location, here you go — the presumption is that it will be on the grassy field:
Of course, there will be A LOT more people hanging out this time around ... and I’m kinda wondering where all the people are actually going to go. Obviously, the streets will be shut down. But if 10,000 — or more? — people show up, is the RV lot across the street just going to be a crazy party? Mooberry Track is closed off, as is the entrance to the stadium.
Maybe they’ll just set up in the street in between the statue and the biosciences building, which would allow the crowd to descend down Stadium Way toward Beasley Coliseum.
I dunno, man. I’m curious to see how this plays out. It’s going to be wild. Thoughts?
