Mike Leach and the Washington State Cougars are still looking for their first Pac-12 win as they head to Stanford and face the Cardinal on Saturday. Stanford is coming off a 21-3 victory over their rival Cal in the Big Game. WSU had a bye last week after losing to Cal, 31-17, at home.
Stepfan Taylor leads a grinding Stanford offensive attack. The senior has carried the load for the Cardinal, and will see plenty of carries against a WSU defense that was shredded by a Golden Bears ground game two weeks ago. Taylor needs 154 yards for 1,000 for the season, and he may reach that easily on Saturday.
Jeff Tuel will get the start for Washington State over a struggling Connor Halliday. Tuel moved the offense against Cal, but the team still struggled to perform in the red zone. WSU will need to convert all chances they have to beat Stanford.
Game time, TV channel: 3:15 p.m. PT, Pac-12 Networks
Spread: Stanford favored by 25.
